Can I get late payment charge removed?

Hi,
I always pay my credit card on time, however there was a delay in processing a payment through to my UB credit card and the paymen tarrived the day after the due date. My statement shows a charge of €8. My questions are:
Can I negotiate with UB to get the charge removed?
Will this late payment appear on my ICB report and affect my credit rating?

You get an additional 30 days before negative information about your credit card record is recorded with the ICB so there shouldn't be any problem.

Absolutely. Outline that you made the payment in good faith but just missed the deadline. I have in the past had 2 late fees waived. The last time got through to an agent who refused initially - told her transfer me to account closures immediately so, she waived it then.
