Can I get a mortgage to buy a house that's in receivership?

My solicitor has indicated that it's complicated; I'm waiting to hear back from the bank because the person I spoke to when I rang didn't know, but apparently I might not be contacted till tomorrow.

Has anyone any experience of this scenario, while I'm waiting?

If the Receiver is selling the house without any conditions, then it should be the same as any other sales transaction.

So, yes, the lender should give you a mortgage.

Have you agreed to buy it from the Receiver?

There are some previous AAM threads here which may be relevant. From what I can recall from reading on AAM most people recommended not to do it as its too much hassle but perhaps things have improved over the years.

Thanks, I'll go through those now. I feel like hassle is doable, for the eventual outcome, as long as it's actually possible.
