I deferred paying tax in 2002 for 7 years to 2009, just wondering can I defer again.

You might want to post some more details of the context behind this query. For example under what rules or scheme did you defer tax? Sounds like it might've been under a Revenue approved ESOP/ESPP but perhaps it's something else? If it is under such a scheme then are the rules not clear on whether you can defer more than once?

Also - if this does relate to share options then is [broken link removed] of any use (in particular section 6.1 and the tax briefings referenced)?

It was an improved scheme, where by I exercised share options by receving full shares and not cash in 2002. The amount of total shares amounted to around 10Keuro (8k$) in 2002, of which 4,200 euro was tax that I deferred until 2009. These shares are in dollars so with the rate so bad and these shares now worth around same 8k$ around 6500 euro. So I was hoping to defer again hoping that the $ would get stronger against the Euro. Since the tax owed is still 4,200K euro I have lost a few grand because of the weak dollar. I did look at you link which states they no longer defer so not looking good.
