Probably a daft question.
I can claim tax back at 20% for medical expenses I get during the year.
I know (from here)
http://www.revenue.ie/en/tax/it/leaflets/it6.html#section1
that I can't claim expenses back for expenses which have been reimbursed by health insurance. Obvious enough.
However can I claim 20% relief back for the portion of the expense that hasn't been reimbursed?
As an example, my health cover, covers 50% of my GP visits.
So my local GP is €50 a visit.
Health Insurance will pay €25.
Can I claim the 20% on the remaining €25
I'm guessing the answer is no. It's no major deal. Worth asking though.
