Can I claim OH tax credits?

I'll be returning to work part-time in the Autumn
My OH will be starting his own business which will be unlikely to make any € for some years. Defacto he will be a stay at home dad.

Soooo how do I calculate my take home pay?
Can I claim his tax credits on my PAYE income? We are jointly assessed.
 
If jointly assessed you can get the total married credit and your PAYE credit. He loses the PAYE credit once self-employed but it is available against any of HIS PAYE income in 2009 up to the value of the credit or the income whichever is the lower. You can also get the standard rate cut off point adjusted to your favour. If his income is less than the cut-off for it then you would also qualify for the home carer credit.
