Can I claim for assurance on a mortgage

Hi board

I read on previous posting what i can and cannot claim with regards to the taxation relief for investment property.Does anyone know if I can claim for the assurance paid which must be taken out on majority of mortgages?

Well, if the property is a residential investment property, you surely would have waived the life cover on it.

Did you take out life assurance on the property?

the assurance was taken out for the value of the mortgage on an investment property.I know I can offset the interest part of the mortgage again income...the question is can I also offset the assurance paid also.any help??
