Can I Claim A TRS Refund For Remortgages If I Have Already Claimed The Max. Relief?

I re-mortgaged my home once or twice over the past four years; all remortgage loans have their own separate accounts and are called for by the bank on the same day as the main mortgage.

I applied for TRS refunds on the top up accounts only recently and was told I had a refund that would be processed in due course.

Months and months later the refunds for the remortgages did not arrive so I contacted Rev. to be told there would be no refunds as I had claimed back the maximum limit on the main mortgage for these specific years that I am trying to claim back on the remortgages.

My question is - is this accurate that the refund for these remortgages is null and void because I claimed back the maximum amount of TRS refunds for my main residence?

Thanks.

Peter

As far as I am aware the top up mortgages would have been taken into account when you applied for the TRS refund on your main residence. The mortgages and the top ups are all seen as being under the one umbrella and not separate identities , just branches off the main loan hence no further refund.

Don't quote me but I'm 99% certain this is the case.

Thanks Wishes. What got me questioning the situation was the conflicting information I had been given.

Yes it seems right, you only get so much TRS and your main mortgage utilises it all.
