Can I cancel my flight?

I booked family flights to Budapest via Aer Lingus with an Irish-based online travel agency. Paid E764 with credit card online. Continuing to browse, I found the same four flights on aerlingus.com for E220 less. Same flight numbers.

Can I cancel the arrangement with the travel agency and book direct?
The AerLingus website says no refunds under any circumstances but I don't want to cancel the flights, just the agent I booked through.

What do the terms & conditions of your original booking say about cancellations/alterations? Presumably you booked the flights through the travel agency's site and not some other site (including Aer Lingus's)?

I'd ask the travel agent to explain why they ripped you off!

I read an article recently saying the want to update their name from "travel agents" to "travel consultants", to reflect the fact they work for the customer not the airlines. But not in your case!
