Can I cancel I bank draft?

Dear all,

Today I paid for in cash a Bank Draft facilitated by An Post.

Due to circumstances outside my control, the other party to the transaction cannot now proceed.

Thus I need to cancel / redeem the draft in order to convert it back to cash.

Could someone on the forum let me know if this is easy, how long it could take, and if I need to involve the person to whom it was made out in the first place.

you should be able to cancel if you cal lback to your post office with all documentation.
