Can I buy duty-free flying from UK to Ireland?

Since the UK is no longer in the EU, can us Irish that are travelling from UK to Ireland buy items in the airport tax free in UK airports?

Yes you can, but double check prices. They tend to like a much higher margin and the savings really are not there.

Even on spirits, it's not always worth it when you compare against the frequent offers you get here.

Assume they just charge less at the till or something? No forms or anything!?

Yes, you can, depending on airport you can check out the prices in advance.
Your limit is 1 litre for spirits though coming into Ireland.
When going from Ireland into the UK, you can get up to 4 litres duty free.

There are some good deals going, especially on Scotch, Rum, Bourbon, Gin, more so than Irish Whiskey.
In general, if you have an option for single malt Scotch for same distillery, go for the one with an age statement versus the 'travel exclusive'.

If you buy 4 liters on the way into the UK and then 1 on the way back, are they going to count the 4 in your allowance on the way back.

I mean, that transaction was done and dusted and it's not being bought on the return journey so surely they can't count it?

You can bring 1 Liter tax free into Ireland. It doesn’t matter where or when you bought it or how much you paid for it.
