Can I buy an affordable house through shared ownership scheme?

I was approved for shared ownership with Cork City Council, and can't find any homes that I like. I would be interested in the affordable houses in my area, just don't know if it's possible.

Also, would like to know if you can purchase a house that's not built yet through shared ownership?
