can i bring my sky+ card to apartment abroad?

Apologies in advance if this is a stupid question . . .

I'm off to spain next week where the apartment has a sky box with freeview channels enabled on the tv - can i bring my sky+ card from ireland as opposed to the box etc to access channels other than the freeview ones?

AFAIK, your Sky card is tied to your Sky box for the premium channels.

So if you take your card abroad then it will only pick up the pay channels if you bring the box with you as well.

It might get you the free channels though.
