I am on a 3 day week with 6 months. My employer wants me to do 1 or 2 day for a month or two or maybe longer. I'm afraid that they will gradually not bring me in anymore. What is the situation with redundancy. Can they just slowly give you less work in order to avoid paying redundancy and just say that they still have you employed for one day a week.

The company that i was made redundant from had a policy that your redundancy be paid on the terms of your initial employment ie if you started out on a normal working 5 day week then your redundancy payment is calculated that way, I am pretty sure that that is the law in relation to payments.

Also, each time your working hours are changed you should receive written notification and agreement of this, this will help avoid the sort of situation you are afraid of running into.
