Folks,

Looking to install a wood burning or pellet stove in the front corner of living room (front of house) but obviously don't want to bring flue straight up & out on front of roof. Does anybody know if it is possible to bring the flue up into the attic space and then route across & bring out at the rear of the house. The living room is a single storey outshot off the house so the flue doesn't have to travel very far through the attic space. Thanks in advance, apple1

Apple1 - you can do this. the flue can go through the attic but there are building regulations that govern this. The flue would need to be separated from any combustible material (you dont want a fire!). Also, flues dont like horizontal runs - it can affect the draught. One important thing to have is a insulated flue with twin walls, not a snigle wall flue, insulated flues cost more but have less problems so better in the long run. Your builder would be able to tell you the specifics.

Contact MI flues 046 9558030.

They are used by a majority of stove retailers i have been talking to.
I have no assocation with this company just a customer.
