I am director of a private limited company. I would like the company to trade with its current ltd company name as well as a t/a name. Is this legal? I cannot get an answer from the companies registration office (I dont think they actually know). For example I want to trade as both(fictitious names)

1.Maguire Sam Ltd.
2.Planner Associates (ie Maguire Sam Ltd t/a Planner Associates)

I would be using two different letter heads/names for the same company.

Thanks.

I find this hard to believe to be honest as it is common knowledge that a Limited Company may trade under a different name as per the example that you have given above.
