Calls from Nauru in South Pacific

Yesterday I was looking at a news article on refugees bring processed by Australian authorities on the island of Nauru. Today I start getting calls from there to my mobile! I didnt answer but when I googled the number it seems that scam calls are being placed from there. Isn't this a bit weird! I've blocked the number.
 
They're probably not from Nauru, they just happen to start with 674. Caller IDs can be anything these days.
 
Could be from anywhere but I was more interested in the fact that I had been googling Nauru the day before and then out of the blue start getting phone calls with that country code.....
