A friend of mine was in a car accident a few years ago and the case is soon to be settled so now they are in talks about loss of earnings and future loss of earnings due to the accident causing a disability
At the time of the accident (2005) my friend was working in a local shop for a year having left her job as a graphic designer hoping to get a better job with a better working environment in graphic design, If the accident occurred in 2005 is my friend accessed for future loss of earnings based on that year of working in the petrol station or would it be based on her being a graphic designer? She is not qualified as a graphic designer but had been working as one for 3 years; She is fully qualified as a secretary
Thanks

Your friend should employ an occupational assessor to advise and report on working and social career and prospects, and an actuary to advise on the capital values required to provide for the loss of earnings.

talk to your solicitor.
