I opened a Nationwide Uk Ireland Euro Regular Saver account in October 2013,deposited €1000 a month for the 15 month period. Balance was just under the €15,265 to avail of the 4% interest. Rang last week to close the a/c and get balance transfered to my current a/c. Interest was paid twice,in March this year,€39 and at a/c maturity....got €198,is that not a bit low?
The blurb on their website says "if you saved €500 a month for 12 months without making any withdrawals, you would earn gross interest of €130 by the anniversary of the first deposit and €201.30 at the end of the 15 month term based on the current variable rate of 4.00% AER / 5.04% Gross." So thats €201.30 interest by putting in €500 a month.......I earned €198 interest by putting in €1000???That can't be right.
