CAD Operator/Technician

Hello,

What is the difference, if any, between a CAD Operator and a CAD technician?
And what are the job requirements of both jobs?

You may find that it is a distinction specific to one company. I have never heard of a CAD Operator before.

 

[Carpenter]

A CAD draughtsperson may have completed training in the use of CAD and may have draughting skills applicable to a wide variety of industries.

An architectural technician will have completed a recognised third level course in Architectural Technology and uses CAD as a tool to prepare drawings and produce building information.

In simple terms a CAD draughtsperson may be very proficient in the use of CAD but may not necessarily understand what they are drawing....
