Buying tools on EBAY

Folks ... I would be interested to hear the opinions and/or experience of anyone who has bought tools on Ebay.ie .... I am looking for a good DeWalt mitre saw amongst other things and there seems to be good availability there. the only thing I am worried about is the whole VAT and import duty issue.

Any information greatly appreciated.

I've bought a few DeWalt tools through EBay, but only from long established shops. I've bought mostly from [broken link removed] guy in the US. I've never been hit with any import duties on these, but haven't bought anything as big and noticable as a mitre saw either.

I've also found D&M to be good for DeWalt. They have the DW718 mitre saw for £650. This is the updated DW708 which I have, and is a great saw. I buy most of my tools, etc. from Axminster, and I'd highly recommend them for service and cheap delivery rates.
