Buying property in Spain

Hi, I was just wondering has anyone had any experience buying property in Spain. A friend of ours has just purchased there and also got a mortgage from a bank in Spain. He said it seemed very straight forward and has already started renting his property. Could anyone give me some more information regarding this.

Your friend should be aware of the tax implications in both spain and Ireland. The spanish property has to be declared to Irish revenue and tax paid according to the rules for both countries which are different in both countries. Don't rely on what an estate agent may tell you/him. Get advise from an acountant /tax specialists.

i've heard theres oversupply in many coastal areas of spain and prices have fallen in some of these places.eg marbella area
