Surely not all websites that sell medication are dodgy? I would like to buy medication for my pet dog, online. Any reliable websites that sell reliable meds for animals?
I have used a UK site called http://www.petmeds.co.uk who deliver to Ireland. Very reliable and some medication half the price of what a vet would charge.
In case anyone is thinking of using it for ordering the prescription dog food just double checked that site and the food itself is approx €66 with €7 delivery charge so €73. I buy it in our vets at about €82 with each 6th bag free along with a €10 voucher offer on the 1st bag in each cycle of 6 purchases.
As I buy the 12kg bag not sure if customs could get involved with their charges at some stage?
There is a bit of a 'vagueness' about these prescriptions as I have asked for prices for the above mentioned dog food in a few different vets and only one told me that I would need a prescription.
Some years ago I used to buy in a local chemist shop for handyness sake. When I switched to Advocate they told me they could probably get that as well and never mentioned a prescription. I usually buy it in the vets now as the prices are similar to the chemist.
Only ever came across one but not sure if you ask that they can order it in. Think it depends on their supplier, how local the shop is and if they know you and are willing to order specific sizes etc.
One thing that's driving me mad about using Advocate is that they now say you must keep the dog dry for 4 days after applying They obviously haven't met my water mad springer spaniel.
P.S. See I go the brand wrong above (corrected now) and its def Advocate that I use rather than Advantage.
He's very hairy so I don't think the plaster option would work and I feel they are too expensive to be chancing my arm with them. I nearly had a fit recently when I heard a story about ticks falling off around a person's house and laying eggs
Definitely worth the 4 dry days then - Advocate protects against alot of parasites, especially the one garden snails carry. And I've seen quite a few of them around.
