Buying Overseas from Private Individual

Hi - just wondering if anyone would know if there is much of a market out there between private buyers and private sellers. In other words avoiding the glossy and heavily advertised overseas property companies who do all the road shows and news paper adds.

Where would be the best place to look for these kind of sales. I am assuming that there must be irish /uk guys out there who bought properties abroad in the recently ended ' good days' and now wish to , or need to sell. Any advice appreciated.

If you look at daft www.daft.ie and the overseas section - private sellers are advertising there - there are worldwide properties. If it is spain there is a forum called www.spanishpropertyinsight.com and they have private sales on there. What area are you looking for? By the way I have no affiliation to either website.

If you're interested in France, www.pap.fr is the way to go. Direct sales site with the objective of avoiding the 6% agent fee. Hope this helps.

www.daft.ie is definately the best I have seen for this service.

I am looking to sell a one bed property on family complex in Sth of France mid way between Montpellier and Nimes airports great on site facilities pools sports courts mini golf etc need to sell as have changed jobs and have not got the time to manage the rentals myself and already have another similar property for my own use.

For France, you can also try the FUSAC magazine, it creates a link mainly between English speaking buyers. The prices are often higher than particulier a particulier () but with the advantage of being in English and the properties are usually in very good condition. Well worth escaping the agency fees if you can in france as the notary fees are already quite high on resale properties.
