I recently purchased 4 lamps from a uk website and paid for items and delivery through paypal. A few days later I emailed store to see what the delivery status was and was told by return email that that their courier company charges are high for delivery to Ireland and that they would refund my money if they could not source a cheaper alternative. Befor I go back to them on email I'd like to knoew if I have any rights?
Unless they're large units then they're fobbing you off - cost of shipping from UK to IRL isn't expensive. I buy lots of product from the UK small and large quantities and never have an issue with shipping.
I know it doesn't answer your 'rights' question but I suspect they are perfectly within their contract of sale to withdraw the good and provide full refund if required.
PS> Mind the exchange rate on the refund, you could lose out on that via paypal.
Thanks Mrblues, I suspected as much, lamps are average size table lamps so I don't see what their issue is. I'll go back to them tomorrow. Thanks for tip on exchange rate, I'll check it out
