Buying Mp3 online?

Just a quick question - If I buy an MP3 player online eg. Amazon or Play - would I be liable to Vat when it is delivered?
 
amazon.com (.co.uk, .de, etc) will automatically charge VAT before they ship, on check-out in other words. I don't know about play.com.
 
youll get charged vat before shipping if shop is EU based.

will amazon ship? I didnt think so, I tried to buy electronics from them last week and they wouldnt ship to eire. I was convinced Id read recently that theyed relaxed on that but obviously not.
 
As far as I am aware, PLAY don't ship electrical over here. You need a UK Address
 
Amazon uk state on their website that they now delivery some electronic items to ireland. Are you sure you were on amazon.co.uk ?

yep deffo on .uk. prices in sterling, got through sale process and at checkout when the "sorry no shipping for this product to your gaff" message came up. (or something similar)
 
You must have been buying from another seller on Amazon. possibly, was a unique item. not run of the mill. I ordered elsewhere for not too much more so happy enough.
 
Thanks for this link, I had the same experience as OP where I got to the checkout only to find I couldnt have the item shipped. But this link worked for me. OP can I ask where did you buy? I would like to compare prices although Amazon is working out quite well price wise.
