Buying laptop for business VAT?

Recently setuo a ltd copmany and reg for vat, just bought laptop on a website from the uk. when i used my vat number they didnt charge vat? do i not pay the vat and then claim it back? Will i get charged the vat later ?

No, you won't be charged VAT. Suppliers in the UK do not charge you VAT once you're registered.

so anything i buy in the uk is vat free???
Do i have to keep vat reciepts for revenue here? or do they care about what i buy in the uk?

You should really be asking your accountant but because there's no VAT there are no VAT receipts for goods purchased from UK based suppliers.
 
i know i have no accountant at the minute, thats top of the list for this week.
