Hi,
I am a first time buyer and looking to buy a property. I intend on living in the property for a couple of years and then renting it thereafter.

Preferably I would like to buy in the swords area, but have been outbid on two occasions so have been considering other areas. I have seen a number of properties in the Jamestown road area of finglas that are within budget, but I don't know much about the area? Can anyone give me advice on this?

I have viewed properties in the ridgewood/boroimhe areas in swords, but I am also considering looking in the Holywell area as I work in city centre. What is this estate like?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Just out of curiosity what type of property have you been looking at in Boroimhe. I will be putting up a 2 bed apartment there for sale in the next couple of months. I was pleased to hear that you have been out bid. I guess the demand is there for those properties in that area. Sorry not so good for your self though !!

I have viewed the 2 bed own door apartments in boroimhe, but have not bid on any of the properties in boroimhe to date. The 2 properties that I bid on were also two bed, so the demand is there!

Would you recommend this part of swords over Holywell, ridgewood?

I live in Holywell, it's quiet estate with an educate together & spar on your doorstep. M1 is beside Holywell & it's also the last stop for swords express into town (straight run through port tunnel) I've done Holywell to Tara st station in 15 mins on swords express in evenings (off peak). Holywell would be cheaper to rent or buy then ridgewood. Maybe rent in the area for a year to get a feel for area & keep an eye on prices?
