Buying in Cabra

Hello,
We have been looking at buying a house in the Cabra area and were wondering what peoples experience of living in this area have been. In particular we have been looking at houses around Carnlough road north of fassaugh Avenue and St.Attracta road. They look well settled but some other roads in the area dont. I have seen some older posts about the area but as we are looking now some current feelings or ideas would be welcome.
Thanks

we looked there around the summer and personally I felt without a kid it's a grand area, few scangers but okay and very handy location, like where we live now, but we have a child and it's not where I'd like him to grow up.

I grew up in Cabra, and parents still live there. It can be a rough enough area at times, but also has a good neighbourly spirit. St Declans Secondary school is nearby, and is quite good.

However, it wouldn't be my first choice area if I ever decided to move back to Dublin.

Thanks Moneygrower and Redstar for your quick and honest responses.
