buying cameras and camcorders in US

I will be visiting the US shortly.What are the best buys in dig. cameras and camcorders? Are they cheaper than in Europe? Are items made in the US cheaper than lets say imported Japanese makes.

www.dpreview.com is a good place for comparing cameras ('though they don't seem to cover many camcorders), or you could use a comparison engine like www.kelkoo.com / www.shopping.com. You'll probably save 40%/50% on typical EU prices (never mind the Irish high street!), but you should enquire about international warranty cover - usually not a problem with the major brands. Also check that power supply/battery charger units can be used with a 220V supply...
