Buying BMW in Manchester

My father is having a look at a car in Manchester this weekend at a BMW dealer.

The dealer has sent us on an HPI checklist which he said was a "comprehensive BMW AUC 124 point check". The car seems fine apart from bodywork marks.

A friend of mine who works for an insurance company over there and did a check and said the car's history is clean.

The question is, do I get an AA/RAC check done or should the investigations I have carried out be sufficient.

Many thanks

I think you have more than enough done. The car is coming from a BMW dealer as opposed to private seller and therefore will have a warrenty with it (just in case) We bought in Warrington some 3 years ago and have never looked back. We will return to the UK for our next car. Higher spec and better road conditions over there which is more than can be said for the state of our roads here. Hope your Dad enjoys many many hours of driving. Good luck.

Many thanks. We met the dealer in person in January and have kept in touch with him.

Good to know what we've done is sufficient.

Just a pity about the strenght of sterling.

Otherwise sounds like more than enough checks.
