Buying a tripod

Can anyone tell me if I can buy a tripod that will work for both my Panasonic Camcorder and my Nikon Digital SLR?

Are there any differences in design for video/photography? I'm recording a friends recital soon and I want to try and get as good a quality as I can hence the tripod purchase, but I'd like to get as much use as I can from it.

Be grateful for any advice.
 
Any tripod will do for both uses. Aldi have a decent one for sale at the moment for €15.99
 
Thanks for that - that Aldi offer was a few weeks back though, so doubt they'd have them still.
 
Sorry, was meant to say that they might still have them, my local store had a few left during the week - Newlands Cross. Worth a look. Failing that, [broken link removed] would be your best option.
 
Got one in Bagenalstown at the beginning of the week. They still had a few left at that stage.
 
Be careful about getting light tripods for heavey DSLRs and Lens.
