Buying a Laptop in New York

I'm planning on heading to NY in the next two weeks and would like to buy a laptop there as i'm told it should work out cheaper.
Could anybody give me advice as to what to watch out for as regards deals, and even issues from a technical point of view i.e. adapters etc that will work here

Most Laptop Power supplies are 100-240 & 50-60 hz
So there would not be much to worry about there

did this last year
you can check out circuitcity for prices they have some good deals but ignore all the rebate stuff.

You can also buy online and get it delivered to hotel (check with hotel first) for even better value.

Also when i got mine i got rid of all packaging and put some of my own files on it, and had my story right. just in case customs had any questions!!!

for the differneces in key board they dont bother me.


another important consideration that i forgot is support for your laptop
i know from a friend who bought a HP in the States that when she broke it she was able to get it fixed under warrenty in ireland.
so i went for a HP myself.

I dont what the support is like for other laptops when you bring them in

I bought mine in the US 5 years ago. Never had a problem, was well worth it because I got it a hell of a lot cheaper.
