Hi there - I am just wondering if I could get some quick advice. The girlfriend and I are living abroad in the EU for the next few years, possibly as many as 7 years, as the girlfriend has an EU job. However, we would like to buy a home here as this is where we will be returning at some point (at most, in 7 years time).
I am wondering what courses of action are available to us. We are renting abroad and have no intention of buying there, so the place in Ireland would essentially be our PPR, but we wouldn't actually be resident there yet.
It seems to me that we would have to buy as 'investors' and pay all the extra that entails. Or maybe as first-time-buyers, but then we would have to leave the property empty until we move in.
Any suggestions, ideas or thoughts?
