What would be the pitfalls on buying an 09 Audi A4 TDI 1.9 with 86KM on clock, used for a long commute?

As long as the servvicing is good and the price reflects the miles should be ok.

The clutch / dual mass fly wheel is expensive to replace mind.

The 2.0 tdi is defo a much preferable buy too.

On a positive not 86km is still only 54,000 miles so the the car should be just run in.

Maybe check or try to guess the route of the commute if possible. 86k on motorways is very different to the same mileage on back roads. Also check when a timing belt change is due if it has one. If buying from a dealer you may be able to get a service or tyres thrown in as 1yr old car with that kind of mileage could hang around like a bad smell - should be able to get a good deal.

Not a cop car is it? :)

Power torque 6 speed gearbox are all pluses.

Drove back from galway on new road in a 1.9 and it just sounded rougher than I would like at a decent cruising speed.

Could have defo done with the 2.0 and 6 speed box.
