Buying a car trailer in France

Hi All,
I'm off to Brittany in two weeks time and was wondering if I could pick up a lightweight, medium-sized car trailer while there. Does anyone have any experience of doing this? Are prices cheaper there and are fittings compatible with Irish cars? I'm going to the Carnac/Auray area. Many Thanks.....

I haven't done it but I have been tempted in the light of my liking for wine (and I note your sig!).

Many hypermarchés sell small aluminium trailers that look to me to be of reasonable quality, and are not too expensive. They use the same kind of ball hitch as we use here, and I think the same electrical connectors.

If you buy one, remember that you might need to amend your ferry booking.
