Buy in France

I would like some tips about buying a property in France. I am looking around the south of France, Cannes. Someone told me about a new website [broken link removed], and I am wondering is this good to find properties? Is it better to use a local company like Ouicando or would it be cheaper to get in contact directly with agents over there?
Has anyone heard about this site?
What the maximum price range I should be looking at for a 1 bed apartment? Is there anywhere else around Cannes that might be cheaper?

Wouldn't think so! Check out www.fnaim.fr where you will find properties direct from the agents..no middlemen whatsoever.
As for your question about maximum price as always it depends on location... Try doing a search on the with the above link with your budget and see where you can afford to buy.

It would appear from reading your other 2 posts that you do not need tips on buying property in France...

was thinking the same myself, in this thread Steveb your looking for advice on buying in France and in another thread your offering expert advice on French Leasebacks, strikes me as a little odd unless you were just trying a sneaky plug for houseinfrance.ie ;)

No I'm afraid that site is not available in English yet! However many of its member's sites are in English so if you can make it through the initial search you should be fine. Let me know if I can be of any more help!
