Built in waredrobes or freestanding

we were thinking of getting freestanding wardrobes initially in our house but at the end of the day, getting them up the stairs would have been a bit awkward, it's a small house, so we decided to go with built in. The built in wardrobe provides much more space as well - both of us have managed to get all our clothes into it, the design uses the space much better than a freestanding wardrobe could. Also if/when we sell, it's better to have inbuilt storage in the house.

I think you are right. The freestanding stuff looks nice in the brochures but the built ins do seem to give a feeling of space. The free standings can be bulky.
