Hi,

I have a new 2 bed apt. in District VII. Can anyone recommend a good management company for letting this apartment? I have been recommended to one company by the developer but this company charges the normal 10% fee plus an additional 'finders fee' of 1 months rent per letting. This seems a bit excessive, are these fees typical of property mgmt. companies in Budapest?

10% per month and also one month's finders fee is normal. You can always negotiate though and 8% should be possible. Many companies in Budapest charge the 10% of the rent irrespective of whether they find you a tenant or not so it can often be better to find a company that doesn't. Otherwise, the impetus for them to rent the apt. out is lower. I've sent you a PM with more details.
