Bruges - which airport

We want to take a short break in Bruges around Easter this year. I can't figure out whether I'd be better flying to Brussels and taking it from there, or flying to Ostend (or other?)? Would appreciate any advice on the best way to get there (shortest way, least hassle, if possible). Thank you.

We've just booked flights with Aer Lingus to Brussels, heading to Ghent. I can get a train direct to Ghent from the airport. Bruges is a couple of stops on so I would imagine that the train also serves Bruges but you probably need to change in Ghent.
We visited Bruges a few years ago when staying in Brussels and were able to get the train from Gare du Nord direct to Bruge.
