We have 5 trees approx. 4 years old and 12ft in height. This past month the leaves on 2 of them have turned brown and dry (looks dead). The trees are prone to strong winds (live on western seafront).
Any advise? Should I cut them back or try to treat them with anything?
It could be the result of the cold snap we have had recently. There was some really bad frost recently; that coupled with wind in an exposed site. I doubt if its drought as I think they are fairly drought-tolerant. I wouldn't cut them back or anything as I am sure they will recover given time and a nice bit of weather. I might be completely wrong of course, so see what the experts say.
Thanks posters. We don't normally get too much frost (on account of being so close to sea) but the weather hasn't been great of late with very cold east winds.
