Where can I get a list of brokers who are no longer operating?

I've heard of 2 in the last couple of days
Smartmoney & Rea.

All suggestions welcome.

I'd expect that the Financial Regulator would be informed when brokers cease trading. I don't know if they would release a list. Why would you want a list?

I've a large number of properties and have taken mortgages out with a lot of different brokers. Basically i would just like to keep an eye on it.I know if any of the brokers were to stop operatring I could get in touch with the bank, at the same time, I dont want to be putting business through a broker and paying a fee to find out that they go bellyup the next day.

As you only pay the fee after the mortgage has been arranged I don't see where the problem is.

Ed not really sure where you coming from with that comment. There are an increasing number of brokers out there charging fees up front.

I was dealing with some recently. They all wanted €500 upfront before they would deal with any of the lenders.
