Broken Lawn Mower, what are my rights?

I bought an electric lawn mower (flymo) during the summer. I have only used it about 4 or 5 times, and half way through cutting the gras on Sunday it broke.
The part which enables you to cut short or long came off completely and on closer inspection i saw that the grip and lock which fixes it in place has worn down and dissappeared, rendering it useless.
I called the store and they said they would send it away to be fixed. I was surprised because it is still under warranty and i thought they would offer to replace it.

But now i dont want this model, i would rather pay extra and get a better one that does not brake after 4 or 5 uses.

am i entitled to this?

not yet. going to suggest this when i go into the store.
didnt want to get into that on the phone, when i would have to do it all over again in the shop.

I have a similar problem with a coffee machine. It's gone for repair and apparently I have to accept that though not happy since this is the second problem since June. Here's a link which explains consumer rights:-

One's rights are not that great - at least it seems to me since I feel I should be given a new replacement - but that is not the case:
If the goods have been used for some time, or if there is undue delay in making the complaint, or if there is reason to believe that the goods have been accepted, the consumer's entitlement, at best, may be to a repair or to a partial refund. There are no hard and fast rules as each case has to be considered on its merits.
Where goods have been used for a time and subsequently prove faulty the right to reject them may be lost. In such circumstances a repair or replacement may be the proper solution. A repair should be permanent.
