broadband without being tied to contract

Is it possible to get broadband without being tied to a fixed Contract? Like NTL? I previously had a 12 month contract with them and cancelled it after 12 months but I need the internet for a minimum of 2/3 months, is this possible?

Only on the Mobile ones I think.

3 do one buy the modem then pay for credit each month.

Metor do a pay as you go usb modem one as well. (dublin and cork only i think at the moment)

A lot of the phone companys modems are 12/18 month contract, you'd need a pay as you go one, Meteor do one I think?
