I dont want to confuse this post with wireless broadband such as rip wave or other satellite providers so I'll use eircom as the example - once eircom braodband is supplied to a home can it then provide wirless service within the house as my laptop has that facility

yes, in short
I believe www.eircom.ie supply a wireless router at present if ordered through the website

I have a netopia wireless router
(Netopia 3347W [broken link removed] and it does the job well enough)

I use a Belkin ADSL Modem with Built-in 802.11g Wireless Router

if you already have an adsl modem you could also buy a seperate wirelass router eg netgear wg614 into which you just plug your existing adsl modem. if you were to change to a different type of broadband down the line such as ripwave or ntl cable, this would be a more flexible option
