Broadband Speed ?

Hi guys

Have an computer (aka laptop)

ASUS ROG STRIX G17 - model ROG Strix G712LWS_G712LWS
16GB RAM
video Intel UHD Integrated and NVidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super
3x m2 : INTEL SSDPEKNW-10T8 - 1T (original drive with win backup on it)
2 of Samsung SSD 980 PRO 2TB

tested on both type of connection WIFI & LAN on a 10MB broadband and worked perfectly.

've bought myself a Cat6a U/FTP LSOH Solid Cable (Reel) - Length : 100mt (used only 25m) and CCS Cat6a FTP RJ45 Plug - For Solid Cable (from CB company in 2020) made the connection myself (preparing everything upfront for a Broadband connection trough Cable)

I've been to Virgin thingy for 4 years (Knowing a little about computers and connectivity the 1'st thing I've done it's changing all the admin & wireless passwords and names for the connections)

- first year had a broadband of 500MB - worked with maximum 100mb/s after 3 months - reason (as they said) your cable it's problematic
- after first technical intervention I've changed the cable I made myself with a new UTP cable (DIGITUS U/UTP CAT6 STRANDED 26AWGx4P PATCH CORD LSOH ISO/IEC 11801 AND ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 - can't write the link D-P ) (20m from router to my computer in the room) same problem - worked for about 15 min with max speed after 15min got back to 100mb/s
I tried to connect and see real time connection to router, check my settings trough phone and connect the cable on router keeping and refreshing the setting on the router over my phone. What did i discovered for 1 min had a connection to 1000mb/s with LAN and after less than 2 min the LAN connection was changed to 100mb/s

- second year change the connection to 1GB broadband - after 3 months max cable 500mb/s (if i was lucky) but mostly 100mb/s - complain again (they change my router 2 times)
I've tried to connect with my phone trough wireless and check / refresh the connectivity status on my router (after resetting) this time I got limited trough LAN to 500mb/s
- second time when I requested technic they charge 90€ for the guys to come and sort my problem and they got to the conclusion that the cable faulty - one of the engineers mock me and gave me a 1m cable to use.

- third year I ask the guy if I can get 2GB broadband he said yes it will cost you 45€/ month for 9 months and 90€ afterwards I said ok .. but it will work? he ensure me that will work out perfect. After 3 months again my connection went from UP to 2GB broadband to max 500mb/s (if i was lucky again). I stopped making myself problems and accepted the facts and switched to wireless only.

At the end of the contract I cancel 1 month before the contract ends over the phone. They charge me automatically 95.80€ (don't know why extra over 90€)

In the last month I made a new contract with EIR for 1GB broadband (thought they will be better)

First month trough same cable that I used on VIRGIN thingy but on EIR broadband of 1GB (after the engineer who made the connection for EIR verified the connection trough UTP cable - DIGITUS U/UTP CAT6 STRANDED 26AWGx4P PATCH CORD LSOH ISO/IEC 11801 AND ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 D-P - (because I requested him) the installation engineer tested was 976mb/s We chat for around 30min and before he left I asked for him to wait to check the connection again (worked with 870mb/s)

Now after 1 month my connection dropped (with the same cable and no movements to the cable or the devices) to up to 100mb/s trough cable. (first time I reset the router works with 700-800mb/s for about 15 min, after dropped back to 100mb/s)
Spoke on client relations, they told me "use another UTP cable". Took my laptop and my charger moved to the living room (where I have the router) used a 1m cable to my computer worked with 700-800mb/s (I didn't check if the connection will get slow again after approximative 15min), switched back my laptop to my room placed the old cable (cat 6 UPT cable) worked with 800mb/s for about 15 min again and afterwards drop to 100mb/s maximum.
I activated wireless to my laptop connected and went up to 500mb/s maximum.

Don't know how or why but all the connections made in this country trough cable after the 30-90days of the contract they limit the speed to whatever they think it's suited for them.

I really don't know what to do. I have a UNRELIABLE and UNSTABLE connection (WIFI) depended of the interferences and length from the router. And if I connect trough UTP cable after 15 min got back to 100mb/s (on this new connection)

When I spoke with EIR the second time the person told me to buy another cable from Harvey Norman shop, but I'm quite sure I will have the same problem.

What shod I do ?
Shod I move to other country to have the connection that I'm paying for ?


By the way on the routers from Virgin there is an option on the wireless that if you are a client from Virgin you can use any device from Virgin with your credentials as long as you are in range using the "speeds" that you have in the contract. (I don't know how that really works if you go in a house that have max 100mb/s connection)
