Briquettes

Hi all, I need to buy briquettes in bulk as running short on timber/turf etc... i get them in Galway for €3.20 a bale, is there better value out there for bulk purchase??

try your local farmer's co-op, they can sell them by the tonne. Literally. Bord Na Mona sell them in bulk, too, loose iirc.........

How do you go about buying them bulk ?

As mentioned above the agri coops often do good deals on bulk orders of coal and peat briquettes.

If you are in East Galway you might not be very far away from Derrinlough Briquette factory and there used to be a turf coop in Attymon.

Bord na mona, Newbridge

BnM corporate HQ is in Newbridge however they do not operate a retail/wholesale outlet from this site.

You could look up Fuel Merchants or Coal Merchants in the Golden Pages.

Since the gas grid was extended to Naas and Newbirdge and these areas were designated smokeless a few years ago the amount of fuel merchants operating has decreased.
