Bringing large quantity of cash abroad

I am heading off to australia for three weeks and will be stopping off in dubai on the way back to purchase a diamond ring. My bank (AIB) insists the most cash I can withdraw from ATM per day is 600 euro. I am unable to increase this limit. I don`t really want to bring 4000 Euro in cash with me (security etc). Does anybody have any simple ideas of how to bring approx 4000 euro with me without bringing lots of travellers cheques or even the credit card. Jewellers in dubai do a better deal for cash and even prefer euros in. Thanks

can you wire the money to yourself and get the cash in dubai?

there is no safe option in bringing that amount of cash with u, id say bring in travelers cheques and cash them in before u start bargaining?? if not id sellotape the hole lot around my body!!! ha!!! wud raise a few eyebrows thru customs!
