Bringing Codeine base painkillers through Arab countries.

If travelling long haul through Dubai, Qatar or similar can I bring a codeine based painkiller such as Solpadeine with me in my hand luggage or hold luggage when transiting through their airports?
Any other destinations where these might not be allowable?

A couple of my prescription based tablets are on that list. I was due to fly to HK later on this summer. To avoid the possible hassle I will fly from a European base direct instead.
