Bratislavia Skiing

I’m thinking of flying to Bratislava and going skiing in Jan/Feb. Has anybody skied near here? If so can you give me some details of areas, public transport to get from the airport to ski resorts. Also any links for hotels/ski resorts/buses or trains etc. Is it an expensive/suitable destination for skiing with 3 teenage kids?

not that daft a plan, just probably not as easier as some other locations

Most of the skiing resorts are in the Tatra's whaich are about 350km or 4 1/2 hours drive from Bratislavia, so the bulk of your and last day will be spent traveling.

Have been there and it was very backward - underdeveloped compared to more mainstraem european resorts. Not large skiing areas - not many lifts etc. Apart from that it was fine - I was with some slovakians who knew the score very well. If you have been spoiled already in France Aus Switz then you may be a little disappointed - If not then you will probably enjoy. Travelling is a bit of a chore as mentioned above.
