Bradstone paving

Hi,

A neighbour of mine wants to put paving in their back garden and got a quote for 120 euro per square metre x 80 metres = 9,600 for bradstone paving. It sounds very expensive! Anyone got any cheaper options for bradstone or something similar?

Acheson Glover have a good range of paving products, not sure about prices, you can buy directly from them. Garden centres usually have a paving section, I know there is one in Carnaross, Kells.
 
This is for supply and fit yes? Sounds expensive to me but it would depend what on site work is required.

Bradstone paving normally costs around €25 - €30 per M so anything extra is for excavation/sub-base/bedding layer/labour.

Golden rule for quotes is to get three so I'd suggest you shop around. A good contractor would have no problem giving you a breakdown of cost on the quotation so don't be afraid to ask. You might be able to save money by doing some of the preperation work yourself.

Hi, Just wondering where exactly that garden centre is? Had no idea there was one around carnaross.

Newbie, there is a sign just opposite the pub in Carnaross showing a paving centre 200m away, not sure if there is garden centre attached to it
 
I just got a price for a bradstone finish to my house, anybody know what the average price per sq a stone mason/bricklayer charges. assuming I pay for materials...
 
Nothwithstanding site aspects/ground preparation etc etc bradstone @ € 120/sq m is OTT.

Natural stone paving (sandstone, limestone and even granite) is a far superior product, and much more resilient than dyed concrete flags, is available for € 100-€ 120/Sq m. Larger areas even less. Why would anyone pay more for an imitation paving product?

All rates are S+F.

Natural Build stone (Walling) would be € 120 - € 160 (max) /Sq m. For general landscaping purposes costs would be lower ie for Raised Beds/Raised Patios etc etc.

Basic stone mason rates would be in the range € 80.00-€ 100/Sq m (Labour only)
